鴨志田さんに教わった、ユナイテッドアローズ 六本木ヒルズ店の見どころとは？
The best shopping suggestion was of course the top floor of the United Arrows flagship store, where Kamoshita san himself displayed his collection. At the time of my visit in early July, the floor had been changed for the summer sale, so we moved on to the United Arrows store in Roppongi Hills, where United Arrows has concentrated its passion. I still hope to have a chance to introduce the original United Arrows flagship store in the future.
鴨志田さんに最適なお洒落アドバイスをいただくには、Camoshitaコレクションが並ぶ原宿のフラッグシップ・ストアである「ユナイテッドアローズ 原宿本店」を訪ねるのがベストだと思いましたが、あいにくこの取材をした7月は、ちょうどサマーセールが始まったところで、若干売り場のディスプレイが変わっていました。そこで私は、ユナイテッドアローズが力を入れている、ユナイテッドアローズ 六本木ヒルズ店を訪ねることにしました。
The Roppongi United Arrows store has the largest variety of UA’s menswear collection, including Kamoshita san’s beloved French brand, Charvet.
ユナイテッドアローズ 六本木ヒルズ店は、Camoshitaを含め、今のUAのメンズウェアのコレクションが一番たくさん見られる場所です。 そこでは、鴨志田さんがいつも愛してやまないシャルベのシャツとネクタイに出会うことができました。
I have always been intrigued by the unique and sophisticated color combination when Kamoshita san wears Charvet. I took the liberty to ask him the question I’ve always wanted to ask him; why is he such a fan of this classical French shirt and tie brand?
鴨志田さんがシャルベを着るときの、いつもユニークで洗練された色の組み合わせに、私は長いこと刺激を受けてきて、なぜ、彼がこのフランスの、クラシックなシャツとネクタイブランドが大好きなのか、ずっと聞いてみたいと思っていました。その理由を聞くと、彼は答えてくれました。
“The classic style, where the color pallet has been succeeded and routed from England tends to be intelligent, masculine, and understated where adding individual flair is to be avoided. While the classical American style is more sporty and youthful than the British style, both share the same routes. If you take a look at the Italian styles, while you may come across very lively “Latin” colorways depending on the region, they fundamentally seek aesthetic value in dressing conservatively. In comparison, the French have their unique color hues that are very graceful and feminine. Culture and aesthetics are vividly reflected in fashion, and a brand like Charvet that is packed with the rich history of France holds elegance that is not quite that of the British masculinity, and I truly admire that quality of this maison”．
「英国をルーツとするクラシックスタイルに継承されてきた色使いは、知的で男らしく、やや控えめなケースが多いと思います。そこに自己主張をするようなことは、良しとしない向きがあります。またアメリカンクラシックは、英国と比べてスポーティで若々しい色使いが多いですが、その根っこの部分は同じ。また、イタリア人は地域によってはラテンの血を感じさせる情熱的な色使いをしますが、基本的には保守的な装いに美学を見出します。それらの国と比較すると、フランス人は独特な色相を持っています。それはとても優美で、女性的ともいえる色使い。ファッションには、文化や美意識が如実に反映されますが、フランスの歴史が詰め込まれているシャルベには、英国的な男らしさとは違うエレガンスがあり、そこに非常に魅力を感じています」
Kamoshita aniki presented me with a small boutonniere of his choosing. Men are often easily attracted to small accessories but soon tire of them. However, by Kamoshita aniki’s suggestion, I have renewed my thoughts on the importance of small items on a gentleman’s style.
この日、鴨志田さんは自らシャルベの小さなブートニエールを選んで、私にプレゼントして下さいました。男性は、小さなアクセサリーに簡単に惹かれるとともに、またすぐ飽きてしまうことがありますが、鴨志田アニキの提案は、紳士の装いには、こうした小さなアクセサリーも重要な意味を持つことを、改めて気づかせてくれたのです。
