日々の暮らしに刺激を求める大人にとって、行動範囲を広げるクルマは必要不可欠な存在だ。そしてクルマを使えば今までに見たことのない場所を気軽に訪れることができる。休日、時間を使ってでも行きたくなる場所…今月は千葉県房総半島を提案したい。
PEUGEOT 208 GT Line × 千葉県房総半島
千葉県房総エリアには有名なサーフィンスポットが多く、競技会場に選ばれる場所も多い。撮影地点は鴨川市東条海岸の天津地区にある定番サーフポイントで、駐車場やトイレなどもあるため、時間を問わず多くのサーファーが訪れている場所だ。見頃の時間は半島の東側に位置するので朝から午前中、特に日中は美しい青い海を見ることができる。
意外と知らない人が多い、都心近郊の美しい海
美しき海を求めてロングドライブに
関東の海はキレイじゃない。そう思っている人がいるかもしれない。だがそれは間違い。千葉県の房総半島には訪れたくなる美しい海が存在する。海の色は水の透明度、砂の色、海の深さと関係するため「美しさ」をジャッジするのが難しい。
「沖縄の青い海」「瀬戸内の淡い緑」などが有名だが、透明度が高ければ美しい海が見られる可能性は高くなる。千葉県であれば九十九里、鵜原、館山の海は県が行っている水質検査でも最高ランクがつけられるほどで、場所によってはこの条件が揃うのだ。
撮影隊はこの場所をよく知っていたので、その再確認も兼ねてプジョー 208 GTラインを走らせて房総半島を目指してみる。九十九里浜であれば東京から1.5時間ほどだ。
日本の渚百選にも選ばれている九十九里海岸。遠浅の砂浜で広く知られているため、海水浴場としても人気が高い。美しい風景を楽しむなら間違いなく早朝、朝日を眺めるのがお薦めだ。常に海沿いを走れるためドライブコースとしてもお薦めでき、また砂浜ギリギリにクルマを停められる駐車場（上は白里海水浴場）なども存在する。
