ダイヤルでパーツが宙に舞うかつてない浮遊感を表現
ダイヤルに設置された香箱や歯車、そしてトゥールビヨンは、まるで重力に逆らって浮遊しているかのよう。その不思議な様を様々な角度から見せるため、たっぷりとした高さのあるボックス型のサファイアクリスタルが、ケースに統合されている。搭載するCal.UN-176は、2018年に誕生。その翌年には、新たなダイヤル素材が与えられた4モデルが再登場した。これは、その中の1つである。光に煌めくダイヤルと香箱上のプレートは、最も重い貴金属オスミウムの合金製。そのプレートに歯車やブリッジを取り付けるには、極めて慎重な作業が要求される。
ムーブメントの詳細をユリス・ナルダンは明らかにしていないが、ダイヤル自体を地板とし、その表と裏とで輪列を構成していると推察できる。3時位置にはリューズ機構を配し、その下には7日間のパワーリザーブ計が単独で鎮座する。9時位置側には主輪列が並ぶが、その歯車の構造はかなり奇妙である。3つ並ぶうち、下2つは異なるギア比の歯車が重なり、さらに中央側は1つ、下側は2つの遊星歯車を内側に収めているからだ。
これら主輪列による駆動伝達は、ダイヤルからは突然途絶え、フライングトゥールビヨンが単独で動いているように見える。そのテンプには、2015年に発表されたシリコン製のユリス・アンカーが備わる。これはコンスタントフォース機構の1つ。ユリス・アンカーは、同じくシリコン製のアンクルにも接合され、そこからV字に伸びる板バネによって脱進時のトルクを均一にする。かつてない発想のコンスタントフォース機構で、ユリス・ナルダンは時計精度を革新した。それを備えたトゥールビヨンの受け石は、人工ルビー。メタリックなダイヤル面に彩りを添えている。
時計界で先駆を成したシリコン技術と、長い歴史を持つマニュファクチュールの伝統的な時計製作技術を惜しみなく注ぎ、パーツが宙に舞う時計を生み出した。
