シチズン アテッサ、たゆまぬ進化の35年
萩原聖人さんがデビューしたのと同じ35年前の1987年、シチズンからひとつの腕時計が誕生した。その名は「アテッサ」。イタリア語で「期待」「予感」を意味するネーミング。軽量で耐食性に優れ、耐メタルアレルギー性も備えたチタニウムを、一体型デザインのケースとバンドに採用。時代の先端を行く「アテッサ」は、その後もシチズンの技術を象徴するブランドとして、その名前通り未来志向の進化を続けていく。

1995年、光発電による駆動機構の長寿命化を実現した「エコ・ドライブ」を搭載。’99年、「エコ・ドライブ」として初となる電波時計機能を実現。21世紀に入ってからも、電波受信が可能な世界初のフルメタルケースや、独自の表面硬化処理デュラテクトを施し耐傷性を飛躍的に高めた「スーパーチタニウム™」を採用するなどしてきた。また使いやすい「ダイレクトフライト」も開発。加工の難しいチタニウムの切削・研磨技術も進化させ、鏡面仕上げや複雑な多面構成までも可能にした。
そしてデビュー35周年を迎えた2022年、記念モデルの第一弾として「シチズン アテッサ ACT Line（アクトライン） NISSAN FAIRLADY Z コラボレーションモデル」が登場した。オン/オフをシームレスに行き来する、新時代のアクティブなライフスタイルの大人に向けた「シチズン アテッサ ACT Line」をベースに、日産のスポーツカー「フェアレディZ」とのコラボレーションが実現したのだ。
「フェアレディZ」は、1969年の誕生以来、半世紀以上にわたり、未知への可能性と夢を追求し、高い人気を博してきた。その挑戦の歴史、スポーツカーとして磨き上げてきた技術、妥協しないこだわりという想いが、「アテッサ」の挑戦し続ける姿勢、高い技術力、1秒にかける想いとシンクロし、このコラボレーションへと結実した。
充実の機能性はもちろん、ブラックの精悍さが際立つデュラテクトDLCを施したスーパーチタニウム™をケースとバンドに採用し、新型「フェアレディＺ」のボディカラーを文字板外周リングにフィーチャーした。
「イカズチイエロー」仕様では、特別仕様車のシートのイメージのドットパターンを文字板にあしらった。インデックスまでブラックアウトすることで高級感を演出。
「セイランブルー」仕様では、ハイウェイ路面のアスファルトを思わせるマットな文字板仕上げ。光沢感のあるシルバーインデックスが、スポーティーでシャープな印象を強調している。

「僕の中で腕時計って、映画で賞を取ったときに頂いたりするもので、フォーマルなイメージがあるんです。舞台挨拶のときや、監督にお会いするときに着けるような。身に着けることで、自分を高めてくれるものですよね。腕時計も車も、そういう感覚にさせてくれるものだから、いいものを持っていたい。『フェアレディZ』なんて憧れの車でしたからね。その車とコラボした時計だからこそ、敢えて特別なときではなく、日常にさりげなく着けているのが一番カッコいいんだろうなと思います。
『セイランブルー』の方は、直感的に手が伸びるモデル。スーツに似合いそうなのはもちろん、自分が普段身に着けるアイテムに対していろいろ合わせやすい、いい色だなと思います。『イカズチイエロー』には、時計が洋服も“映え”させてくれるみたいなイメージがあります。時計からの発想で服を選ぶ、つまり、この時計を着けたいから今日はこういうスタイリングにしようみたいになっていくとカッコいいんじゃないかなと思います。実は、今の僕の麻雀チームのイメージカラーがイエローなので、めちゃめちゃ惹かれます(笑)」

もともと芸能界きっての麻雀好きとして知られていたが、2018年から日本プロ麻雀連盟に入会、プロ雀士となって同年よりスタートした「Mリーグ」にTEAM RAIDENのメンバーとして参戦している。
「Mリーグは、麻雀エンターテインメントとして自分が求めていた場なんです。麻雀って面白い、毎局ドラマがあってエンターテインメントなんです、っていうのを伝えたい。毎日挑戦なんですよね。挑戦しないと前に進めないですから。俳優業でいえば、自分が生きてきたことが正しかったか、やってきたことが間違ってなかったかっていう挑戦になっていくかもしれないです。それを確かめるためにやるわけじゃないんですけど、結果的にそれが挑戦になっていって、その中にまた新しい挑戦が立ちはだかる。その繰り返し。キャリアが今の自分をつくってくれたかもしれないですけど、それってあくまで結果論で、キャリア関係ないんだっていう。50歳になっても50の新人なんですよね。
その一方で、残り時間が多くはないことを実感する年代になってきたと思います。映画に出たときに実際に体が動くか、全速力で走れるかっていう物理的な時間自体が、あと何年だろうとか思うじゃないですか。そうすると１本１本の大切さを自分の中にちゃんと残していかなきゃっていう感覚になりますね。だから1日の時間の使い方をより意識していかないと。これまで無駄にしてきた時間もあるけど、とても大事にしてきて、それが今に生きている時間があるのも事実。密度を濃くできるような時間を、これからは生きたいと思います」
35年間刻んできた時間、そしてここから大切に積み重ねていく時間――。萩原聖人さんの時間と、「アテッサ」の時間とが重なり合うとき、新しい大人のケミストリーが生まれる。そのインスピレーションに満ちた瞬間がここに切り取られた。

萩原聖人（はぎわら・まさと）
1971年神奈川県生まれ。1987年ドラマ『あぶない刑事』で俳優デビュー。’90年『はいすくーる落書２』の松岡直次郎役で注目を集める。以降、映画、テレビドラマ、舞台、ナレーションなど幅広く活躍。’93年、映画『学校』『月はどっちに出ている』『教祖誕生』などで映画賞を多数受賞。『マークスの山』（’95年）、『CURE』（’97年）で日本アカデミー賞優秀助演男優賞他を受賞。ドラマ『今どきの若いモンは』（WOWOW、4/9～4/30毎週土曜22:30～）、ハリウッドとの共同制作ドラマ『TOKYO VICE』（WOWOW、4/24～）。主演映画『島守の塔』は今夏公開予定。2018年より、プロ雀士として、麻雀プロリーグ「Mリーグ」にも参戦中。
