一流が語る「アテッサ」の魅力　#02/俳優・向井理

ドラマ、映画、舞台と幅広く活躍を続ける向井理。子どもの頃から腕時計に憧れを持っていた彼が、20歳の記念に贈られた時計はシチズンだった――。そんな思い出を語る彼の手元を、シチズン『アテッサ ACT Line』の新作が飾った。チタニウムウオッチのパイオニアならではの技術から生まれたタイムピースが、不惑を前にますます充実の時を迎えつつある俳優のモチベーションを高めていく。

祖母からのシチズンを愛用して

「仕事でも普段の生活でも、常に何かを考えながら、一つでも多く吸収できるようにしたい。台本は誰よりも読み込んでいると自負しています。そうしないと見えてこないものがたくさんありますから」

俳優・向井理、39歳。ストイックなまでに役に向き合うスタンスを貫く一方、豪快で気風のいい一面ものぞかせる。

「僕はわりと典型的な、いい家に住んで、いい車に乗って、いい時計を着けたいタイプなんです。宵越しの金なんか持つなよ、と思うし（笑）。たぶん子どもなんですよ。物分かりのいい大人になったほうが効率いいんでしょうが、別に子どものままでいいじゃないかと。この時計を買いたい、この車に乗りたい、そのために頑張ろうというのが、一つのモチベーションになるし、“ご褒美”だと思っているんです。だからこそ、その分、仕事に反映していきたい」

腕時計には、こんな思いがある。

「時間は、時計で見たいんです。携帯をいちいち取り出してっていうのが、あまりスマートだとは思えない。携帯一個あれば時間も分かるし、買い物もできる時代ですが、何かつまんなくないですか？　腕時計には子どもの頃から憧れがありました。父親はアクセサリーとか一切着けない人でしたが、それだけに唯一の装飾品として腕時計を着けている姿がかっこいい、と思って眺めていました。そこで刷り込まれたものが、ずっと残っているんですよね」

成人式を迎えたとき、祖母から何が欲しいかと尋ねられ、腕時計をリクエストした。
