ジョルジオアルマーニのMTOは本誌でも度々紹介しているが、実は“エンポリオ”にもMTOがあるのをご存じだろうか？その真骨頂は「コンテンポラリーさ」。その実力を今回2回に分けてじっくりご紹介しよう。

“憧れ”を身近に、気軽なオーダー体験を

2019年に日本限定サービスとしてスタートしたエンポリオアルマーニのMTO。その魅力を端的に表すなら、「コンテンポラリー」という言葉が相応しい。

まず、注目したいのは仕立てである。ベースモデルは大別して「M Line」と「CITY Line」の2種類。前者は構築美を感じさせる正統派、そして後者は副資材を極力排したデコンストラクテッド。対照的な仕立てだが、装いの多様化が進む今、この広い振り幅から好みに合うものを選べるというのはまさに“コンテンポラリー”といえよう。

加えて、オーダーシステム自体も極めて現代的だ。注文時の予約は不要。大がかりな採寸もなく、豊富なサンプルに袖を通しながらサイズ感を確認する明快なフィッティングだ。ふらりと店を訪ねて、肩肘張らずにオーダーできるのが魅力である。イタリア製にもかかわらず、納期は約1.5ヶ月。このスピード感も実に今どき。さらに、コスト面でも大変魅力的。既製品と20％ほどしか価格が変わらず、27万5000円からオーダーに手が届く。これは驚異的。

一流メゾンのオーダーだからといって、身構える心配は無用。これぞエンポリオアルマーニならではのコンテンポラリーな提案だ。
